Understanding Tube Feeding - Childhood cancer treatments often bring challenges like loss of appetite and nausea, making it hard for kids to meet their nutritional needs. Feeding tubes—whether NG or G-tubes—can provide essential nutrition and medications during treatment.

For parents, it can feel overwhelming at first, but with time and guidance, families adapt and find these tools to be lifelines for their little warriors.

DID YOU KNOW?

Tali’s Fund has been helping to support Dr. Annie Huang’s research since 2008.  The Annie Huang Lab is part of the Arthur and Sonia Labatt Brain Tumour Research Centre at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, Canada.

In her lab, she uses advanced genetic tools to study rare brain tumours in children, such as ATRTs (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumors) and ETMRs (Embryonal Tumors with Multi-layered Rosettes). Her goal is to better understand these tumours in order to develop safer and more effective treatments, as well as improve the chances of survival for patients.

Many of the findings from her research have contributed to the development of clinical trials for rare tumours, thanks to her leadership in the Children’s Oncology Group Trial Consortia.

Hope4ATRT Rally

Kim Doron represented Tali’s Fund as a featured speaker at the Worth the Fight ATRT Virtual Rally organized by Hope4ATRT on Nov 22. She shared her personal experience with other families, discussed Tali’s Fund and its mission, and learned about the research projects and achievements of other experts. 

Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday we partnered up with Crock a Doodle Richmond Hill and the pottery session was a lot of fun! The funds raised contributed to our family support program.  

We couldn’t have done it without you—together, we’re creating art, capturing memories, and painting a brighter future for kids with brain cancers!
