In this interview, Damon & Annie discuss her journey to becoming a neuro-oncologist and lead scientist at SickKids Hospital & the University of Toronto after immigrating to Canada as a teenager. Annie also shares insights about her important work with families as a clinician for young children with brain tumours and the ongoing relationship she maintains with Damon since caring for his son Callum in 2006.
Damon is an ER doctor and medical educator at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario,Canada. In 2018, he published a book “Finding Our Way Home: A family’s story of life, love and loss” describing parts of his journey since losing his 3-year-old son to cancer in 2006.
